Lumecca Q&A

How do facial veins and age spots develop?

When it comes to skin concerns that really make an impact, age spots, and facial veins lead the pack. While these two issues may seem to be quite different, the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays play a role in each.

With age spots, which are also called sun spots, your melanin begins to cluster as a result of aging and prolonged exposure over the years. This cluster effect is what leads to the age spots that tend to develop in the more highly exposed areas of your skin, such as your face, chest, hands, and forearms.

UV rays also play a role in the development of those tiny little veins that can appear on your nose, cheeks, and chin. Exposure to the sun can dilate tiny blood vessels and draw them closer to the surface of your skin.

How does Lumecca clear skin?

The Lumecca system relies on intense pulsed light (IPL) technology to clear your skin of all types of blemishes. Rather than precise and targeted laser energy, IPL sends light energy of different wavelengths into your skin, which breaks apart vascular and pigmented lesions.

The IPL energy passes harmlessly through the outer layer of your skin and into your dermis where it targets your skin concerns.

When will I see results after my Lumecca treatment?

Over the weeks following your Lumecca treatment at Erasing Time, your skin responds to the treatment and flushes away the debris naturally. Your results usually fall into place in a week or two, but this timeline may be longer if you require more than one treatment.

How many Lumecca treatments do I need?

One of the greatest benefits of Lumecca is that the providers at Erasing Time can often tackle vascular and pigmented lesions in just one treatment. Of course, if your problem is a larger one or you have several areas you want to address, you may need a series of treatments.

The best way to find out what’s appropriate for your skin is to sit down with one of the experienced team members at Erasing Time. Please call or use the online scheduling tool to set up an appointment.
